Every far-left pundit is raising concerns about the potential breakup of the United States, a situation that escalated after Texas took bold actions that the federal government did not. The state expelled federal agents from a park within its borders and began erecting concertina wire barriers. This was a strategic move to curb the entry of military-aged males into the U.S. In response, the left has intensified its efforts to counter what it perceives as a threat from "Right-wing extremists."
In an opinion piece written by former Watergate prosecutor Jill Wine-Banks, Banks proclaimed that it would be the end of the United States if the SCOTUS sided with Texas in their fight to secure the border. She isn’t the only liberal commentator to cry foul and tacitly accuse conservatives of staging an insurrection.
California Set the Stages for CW2
What these political pundits fail to acknowledge is that California’s Governor Gavin Newsom started the war against the constitution and the federal government. In 2018, California passed Senate Bill 54 which prohibited law enforcement from working with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. The law, absurdly named the California Values Act, mandated that law enforcement not inquire about a person’s immigration status, share information about individuals with ICE, or provide any assistance to the federal agency. We were absolutely ham strung and not allowed to work with ICE. Human trafficking and cartel investigations were ground to a halt since local law enforcement relied on ICE to provide staffing, money and equipment to take these criminal networks down.
As you all know, I was a police officer in the San Francisco Bay Area. I was prohibited from working with the Border Patrol since 1991. Back then, Border Patrol worked internally within the US to stop immigration. They had a station in a city near me and we called them whenever we came across an illegal alien. In 1991, my agency passed a policy prohibiting us from working with them. We weren’t the only city to do this.
California's stance against the federal government extends to its handling of the Second Amendment. The state's legislation, which aims to regulate firearm ownership, has faced opposition and has been overturned multiple times by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. Despite these rulings, California continues to enact new laws that seek to navigate around both the Constitution and the directives issued by the 9th Circuit, demonstrating a persistent effort to maintain its regulatory approach towards gun control.
Is Texas Ground Zero for CW2?
Back to Texas now. The left has been instigating an insurrection for years. Finally, a state had the fortitude to stand up against government tyranny and innaction and now the left is signalling that we are somehow responsible for an “insurrection.” Texas is just responding to the tyranny and obstruction of federal laws and regulations by the left.
I can guarantee you that Texas State Troopers and Border Patrol agents are having a cup of coffee together laughing at what is going on and celebrating that someone finally had the balls to stop this massive flow of military aged males into our country. They aren’t going to arrest each other or fight each other. They are neighbors and residents of the Great State of Texas. They are all as mad as we are about what is happening. But this whole situation will be handled in the courts. There will be no Civil War 2 starting here.
Where Will Civil War 2 Start?
Where it will start is in the streets as the left tries to burn down our cities again in 2024, just like they did in 2020. This time, though, good citizens will stand up and fight those destroying our cities as liberal politicians continue to pass laws that stifle the police from doing their jobs.
But hard core socialists and communists like ANTIFA and BLM have been arming themselves and getting training in tactics and shooting skills. The John Brown Gun Club is a leftist gun rights group training leftists in tactics needed to fight conservatives coming to stop them.
The ongoing conflict between Texas and the federal government highlights a growing perception of the federal government's diminishing relevance. As a law enforcement officer in one of America's most liberal regions, I have observed for a decade that California's actions pose a significant threat to both the Union and the Constitution. These actions, I believe, are more detrimental to the fabric of our nation than any other issue currently facing America.
